A valid Standard First Aid Certificate
CPR Level C or Health Care Provider (Heart & Stroke Foundation's Standard First Aid + CPR/AED Level C, St. John's Ambulance, or Canadian Red Cross) minimum requirement - higher qualifications are also accepted (eg. Advanced First Aid, ACP practice permit, etc.)
Alberta Student Number
A completed Medical Form complete and signed by a physician within 6 months of program start date.

Fire Program Physical Requirements:
Fire Fighting is a career that demands high physical fitness - students must be physically healthy and fit.
Applicants must present a medical form stating that they are approved and able to participate in this physically demanding program.
Facial hair must be trimmed or shaved - excessive facial hair may impair the use of breathing apparatuses.
Students with English as a second language:
Students who speak English as a second language are required to complete the online Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB)English proficiency exam prior to applying to the EMR program.
