The following requirements must be met by each applicant to be accepted into The WIEE PCP program.
Prerequisites:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- High School Diploma, GED/equivalent OR Post Secondary Education equivalent to or above a grade 12 OR Mature Student Application
- Current BLS Provider, CPR Level C or Health Care Provider (Heart & Stroke Preferred)***
- Driver’s License - Class 5 minimum.
- A current clean Police Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Updated Immunization Records
- Two Letters of Character Reference

Please include one of the following:
- Current Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Alberta College of Paramedics Practice Permit
- Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Certificate/Transcript *
- Medical First Responder (MFR) Certificate
- Advanced First Aid (AFA) Certificate
- An Alberta College of Paramedics Practice Permit is NOT required to apply for the PCP Program.
Mature Student Application/Recognition:
In order to be reviewed as a mature student, please contact our office regarding this process.
Information that is required under Mature Application:
- Any education completed
- Please Provide a transcript that includes your highest level of education completed in English, Math and Sciences.
OR
- Any Post Secondary education or certificate programs as well as other relevant training
- Documentation detailing current work experiences
- Contact our office to speak to us regarding your Mature Student application for review. You may be required to take the Wonderlic SLE Exam.
- WONDERLIC Scholastic Level Test (SLE)
Students with English as a second language:
- Students who speak English as a second language are required to complete the online Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) English proficiency exam prior to applying to the EMR program.
- This exam is completed independently, and results must be forward to admissions@emergencyed.ca to supplement your application.
