The PCP program at the Western Institute utilizes online delivery, in person delivery and practical settings to deliver and complete their program.
Each student must attend an orientation session on site. This will be a full day of materials distribution, site orientation, rules and policy review, Comptracker orientation and any other program process and requirements.
The first part of the program will be Anatomy & Physiology Module for Pre-hospital Providers. This section is delivered on line and will be self paced with occasional instructor online lessons. This will help the student review and prepare them selves for the in-class portion of the course. Total time on this course is 30 hours.
In Class Sessions are held on a 4 on 4 off rotation running from 08:00 - 17:30 each day with 30 min lunches. This will be the duration of the in person sessions lasting 16 weeks. Once you have been successful at this portion of the program you will then proceed on to the final stages of the course wich is the clinical and practicum placement.
