Practicum
As a note, we feel it is important that students receive as much information as possible prior to starting their program in order to be able to plan accordingly for success. Practicum sites are dynamic and are located throughout Alberta. While we do our best to place students at their location of preference, we cannot guarantee placement at the student's first choice site.
To be successful at this stage of the program, students are required to travel and operate within their preceptor's work schedule. As a result, students must be aware of the potential for extra costs such as fuel for travel, food, and occasionally accommodations for sites that do not offer student lodging. These costs are not included in tuition or covered by WIEE.
This will be discussed further in a full day of practicum orientation in class.
